<dt><h2>Position Summary</h2></dt>
<dd><p><strong>DESCRIPTION:</strong><br>Responsible for oversight, development and maintenance of York College Drupal-based environment. This role is critical to ensuring our site remains secure, up-to-date, and functions optimally while working within our Pantheon hosting environment.<br><br><strong>OUTCOMES</strong>:<br>A reliable and robust website service and an effective content management process.  A professional public web presence that is functional, secure, and accessible for all visitors and is effective in attracting new students.</p></dd>
<dt><h2>Essential Functions</h2></dt>
<dd><p><strong>Pantheon Host and Drupal Core Management (30% - appx. 8 hours per week)</strong><br></p><ul style="margin-bottom: 3pt"><li>Perform regular Drupal core and module updates, with particular attention to security patches</li><li>Perform, review, and evaluate visual regression testing of site and Drupal core updates</li><li>Manage any upcoming major Drupal version upgrades (Drupal 10 reaches end-of-life December 2026) </li><li>Configure and optimize Pantheon tools and integrations such as, but not limited to, Redis and New Relic</li></ul><strong>Security Management (25% - appx. 6 hours per week)</strong><br><ul style="margin-bottom: 3pt"><li>Research detected scripts, cookies, iframes in Osano platform</li><li>Publish cookie banner configurations to ensure compliance with regulation, law, and security</li><li>Implement and maintain security headers (CSPs) and other security best practices </li></ul><strong>Drupal CMS Technical Support (15% - appx. 4 hours per week)</strong><br><ul class="decimal_type" style="margin-bottom: 3pt"><li>Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues within the Drupal environment</li><li>Frontend administration: configurations, file system management, URL redirects</li><li>Handle formatting issues, broken links, and other miscellaneous corrections within Drupal content</li></ul><strong>Repository &amp; Version Control (15% - appx. 4 hours per week)</strong><br><ul style="margin-bottom: 3pt"><li>Manage code repository and version control workflows </li><li>Coordinate repository migration from current vendor upstream to internal ownership </li><li>Maintain documentation of site architecture, customizations, and deployment processes</li></ul><strong>Front-End Development &amp; Theming (15% - appx. 4 hours per week)</strong><br><ul class="decimal_type" style="margin-bottom: 3pt"><li>Maintain and update Drupal themes using Twig templating </li><li>Implement responsive design changes and ensure cross-browser compatibility </li><li>Work with Tailwind CSS framework for styling and layout adjustments </li><li>Troubleshoot front-end issues and optimize user interface components</li><li>Develop custom JavaScript solutions for site</li></ul><strong>Performance &amp; Optimization (5% - appx. 1-2 hours per week)</strong><br><ul style="margin-bottom: 3pt"><li>Monitor site performance and implement caching strategies </li><li>Manage CDN and performance optimization tools within Pantheon</li><li>Configure and troubleshoot third-party integrations (chat tools, forms, analytics) </li></ul></dd>
<dt><h2>Experience and Education Required</h2></dt>
<dd><p></p><ul style="margin-bottom: 3pt"><li>3 years of hands-on Drupal or similar development experience (Drupal 9/10/11 preferred) </li><li>3 years’ experience with Git version control and deployment workflows </li><li>3 years’ experience with performance optimization and caching strategies </li><li>Previous experience in higher education or similar institutional environments, preferred</li><li>Experience migrating Drupal sites between major versions, preferred </li><li>Background in troubleshooting third-party integrations and APIs, preferred </li></ul></dd>
<dt><h2>Required Skills and Qualifications</h2></dt>
<dd><p></p><ul class="decimal_type" style="margin-bottom: 3pt"><li>Strong understanding of PHP, JavaScript, HTML/CSS </li><li>Familiarity with Pantheon or similar managed hosting platforms </li><li>Understanding of web security best practices and implementation</li><li>Knowledge of web cookie management, regulations, and best practices </li><li>Ability to manage website in vendor-hosted environment</li><li>Ability to work independently without direction</li><li>Ability to maintain productive external vendor relationships</li><li>Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG 2.2) </li><li>Excellent customer service and team-building skills</li><li>Excellent verbal and written skills.</li></ul></dd>
