At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Desktop Support Supervisor, you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. With minimal supervision, the Tier 2 Systems Administrator works as part of an enterprise team to provide support on multiple Department of War (DoW) networks and enclaves. You will manage services using on-premise hardware and perform regular hardware and software updates. Performs installation, repair, and preventative maintenance of laptops, desktops, and Zero Clients. Provides technical support and troubleshooting to Tier 1 & 2 support. Deliver technical support to the Enterprise components as required. Additionally, you must be able to implement system management tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTP).

How a Desktop Support Administrator Will Make an Impact

You will provide systems administrative support in areas such as:

  • Active Directory

  • System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)

  • Exchange

  • Information Security

  • File Shares

  • PKI

  • Virus protection

What Youll Need to Succeed

Education:

  • High School Diploma/GED with 3 years of related experience, or

  • Associate degree with 4 years of experience, or

  • Bachelor's degree with 2 years of experience.

Basic Skills/Experience:

  • 2+ years in at least three of the following areas: VDI, Active Directory, SCCM, Exchange, Information Security, Desktop applications.

  • 2+ years configuration, troubleshooting, and maintaining Windows 11 Desktops.

  • Ability to support a 24x7x365 work schedule, shift work, and travel as required in support of customer initiatives when required

  • Knowledge of Networking fundamentals.

  • Exposure to DoW Configuration Management, Information Assurance, and Systems Lifecycle Management processes.

  • Creating and updating lifecycle documentation as required.

Clearance Level:

  • TS/SCI required

Required Certification(s):

  • Security+ CE Certification required; DoD compliance 8570.01

Location:

  • On Customer Site.

US Citizenship:

  • Required.

Desired Skills:

  • Position may require lifting of objects (i.e., IT Hardware), reaching/bending/kneeling (i.e., plugging in cables), and other moderately strenuous activity.

  • Self-starter, motivated, shows initiative, and learns fast.

  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Ability to create and maintain sustainment documentation.
